Motorola Moto G7 Plus

The Moto G7 Plus if the flagship of the midrange. I know that might be an oxymoron but I think the Moto G7 Plus has set the benchmark for devices at and around the $500 price point. For some, it may be a little more than they wanted to spend and for others maybe even a little less then they may be willing.

Motorola (or rather Lenovo) has done it again: the G7 Plus continues the G series tradition of offering some very decent specs and features at a very low price. If you don't want to go above £300 for your next smartphone buy, then the Moto G7 Plus is an excellent choice.

The Motorola G7 Plus is a great phone at a great price. The device also comes with a host of clever Moto Actions, like if you turn the device over it activates Do Not Disturb and you can edit your screenshots from a dedicated editor. It seems that in the name of affordability Motorola sacrificed on the quality of the display, but this won’t be a huge issue for most people. We highly recommend this smartphone!

The Moto G7 Plus is a great phone and a solid choice with change to spare from £300. You're unlikely to be disappointed if you go this way. There's not much to rival the G7 Plus at this price so a big questions is whether you should get it over the regular G7. We think not unless you'll appreciate all the little geeky upgrades.

However, competition is getting very intense at this end of the market, and Motorola may need to raise its game next time around. For now though, the Moto G7 Plus should definitely be in the reckoning if your smartphone budget is around £300.

Is it worth buying the Moto G7 Plus at all when the Moto G7 Power costs £90 less and the Xiaomi Pocophone F1 is a mere £30 more? Perhaps, but it depends on what you’re looking for. If you’re happy to settle for a non-FHD display and a weaker camera then the Moto G7 Power is the phone for you. Likewise, if you value battery life above all else. And if it’s speed and power you’re after, you’ll be best served with the Pocophone F1.

The most powerful G series smartphone to date is packed with features and with a large screen, solid cameras and enough performance it's a great device for those unable to afford a fully fledged flagship.
