Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Hero (Wi-Fi)

Loaded with a strong VRM, high-end features, and a decent assortment of overclocking features, the ASUS Crosshair VIII Hero Wi-Fi is a fully loaded motherboard.

A very competent, well-presented X570 motherboard hobbled with what feels like a high street price.

Asus left no stone unturned in its crafting of the Crosshair's specs list. But when performance is a no-show between the cheapest board and the most expensive, how much are you willing to pay for peace of mind?

While it is part of the Republic of Gamers, the ROG Crosshair VIII Hero (WiFi) is definitely way overkill for just gamers.

Overall, it is a totally solid design, and it is a well-designed board. The DDR4 memory worked straight out of the box, we enabled the 3600 MHz XMP and the G.Skill memory used immediately kicked in. Tweaking wise, the motherboards will not be any limitation, the processors however are. We have no reason to not recommend the C8H WIFI, really is a fantastic product. The price, however, is incredibly steep but yeah .. approved none the less.

If it was based on looks alone, I won’t stop you, as the Crosshair VIII Hero looks truly stunning from top to bottom. The winners for me though as the superb audio hardware, which can drive high-end audio devices with some serious processing power. If you care about overclocking but want to take out a lot of the stress of it, their 5-way optimisation system is in a league of its own these days too.

The Crosshair VIII Hero comes highly recommended. It may be early on but this may be the board that has set the bar and is the one to beat. If you’re looking to upgrade or build a new Ryzen 3000 based system, you’d do well to start here. In a word, this motherboard is brilliant.
