There are many paths you may go if you’re seeking a Jumbo-size Gaming Monitor. The extremely wide screens of 21:9 range from 34 to 38 inches diagonally. There are several sizes. The 32:9, 49″ genre is then mega-wide. Or stay to the 16:9 aspect ratio with flat panels and go 32 inches or bigger. Many just choose a TV and open the screen for bigger, 80-inch screens.

If a 43-inch display is the sweet spot for your space, then the Aorus FV43U will likely serve you well for PC and console gaming alike. Some quirks, like the sub-par local dimming, limited HDR settings, and blurry motion hold it back, and most people would probably be better served by a TV for the price.

The FV43U felt incredibly smooth when playing fast-paced titles whilst benefitting from its large-screen and HDR performance in more story-based AAA games. General content consumption felt natural and TV-Esq, with general everday use also being a viable option for this panel. With VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification, a decent set of speakers, good pixel response, and general responsiveness, there really isn’t much this monitor does wrong.

Minor issues aside, the FV43U is an outstanding monitor. At $1099 and 43-inches, it’s going after a sub-section of the market, but compared against the competition, it’s a great value that offers excellent performance. If you’re in the market for a big, bold gaming monitor, this is absolutely one worth considering.

The Aorus FV43U misses a couple of things as a TV replacement, but for gaming, it has few equals. A huge and accurate color gamut coupled with high contrast, 4K resolution and 144 Hz makes it a great choice for both PC and console gamers.
