Asus Zenbook 17 Fold OLED

It’s tempting to write off the Asus ZenBook 17 Fold OLED as a proof-of-concept that’s accidentally wandered onto the shelves but, judged on its performance alone, it’s a respectable – if expensive – laptop.

So while the Zenbook 17 Fold is an admirable first attempt and improves on the category as a whole, it still has a few regressions that leave it feeling more like a polished take on a slightly dated design than a true rival to Lenovo's next-gen foldable.

More a costly proof-of-concept than a laptop you'd consider buying, Asus' Zenbook 17 Fold OLED is a step forward in PC design that will hopefully lead to future development.

The Asus Zenbook 17 Fold OLED is the biggest foldable we've seen yet, which makes for great monitor modes and a usable laptop mode. But it's still very expensive and a bit clunky.

Still, this product is quite useful, and it’s very cool. The fact that it exists and that it mostly works is a great sign for this new category of device. I think a really excellent foldable from Asus is probably on the horizon.

This 17-inch foldable OLED laptop is a decent ultraportable that looks like a sci-fi film prop, and the array of ways you can set it up is fantastic. But if you care about performance or usability, look elsewhere; you can get more laptop for less money if you ditch the folding display.
