A standard mouse and keyboard setup aren't going to work, since you probably don't have a surface to use them on. Instead, you're going to have to look to game controllers, wireless keyboards and touchpads and remote controls for Windows.

Typing accurately on the k830 takes a little getting used to, but this keyboard is a good size and weight for use in the living room, and includes great features that make it uniquely suited for navigating a smart TV or cable box to find the content you want.

The Logitech K830 is a perfectly reasonable keyboard for an HTPC, but the cheaper TK820 is far superior when it comes to typing.

In conclusion, we think that this makes Logitech’s K830 Wireless Illuminated Living-Room Keyboard one of the company’s least favorable keyboards to date. You can expect the same great battery life and reliable wireless connectivity performance that Logitech’s keyboards are known for, but unfortunately everything else is secondary at best. This isn’t a keyboard we think is good enough to recommend. It’s just an overpriced all-in-one that could have been much more impressive than just an okay wireless keyboard.

If you like your entertainment delivered in a darkened space, then this is a great choice. The real decision here comes down to your mentality as an entertainment user: Are you an active armchair watcher or sofa snoozer? Snoozers should make do with the Sky remote. Active viewing folks will find the Logitech K830 worth buying.
