Fractal Design Pop Air

Pop Air brings welcome colour to traditionally black boxes and is only a USB-C away from a recommendation.

I strongly recommend this case, and I’m genuinely tempted to buy one myself. Some may find the radiator support a little limiting, but I for most systems, it’s more than capable, has good airflow potential, and has some unique features and aesthetics that make it stand out in a PC market that’s been lacking new ideas for some time now.

Fractal Design Pop Air is worthy and does a decent job.

Fractal Design is always known for their quality and this case is no different. It doesn’t seem as if Fractal cut any corners in terms of quality on this case, both panels are solid, all the drive trays are metal, and you have metal thumbscrews on everything. Obviously, there are some concessions in terms of what will fit in the case, but I think most people will be more than happy with what you get out of the box with this case.

The Fractal Design Pop RGB gets our endorsement, but with some caveats. There are only a few USB connectors and lacking is USB-C, which in the year 2022 is a little silly. On several levels, the design is original and appealing to us, the chassis however does look a bit classic / older. The concept, as well as the interior, have been thoroughly thought out.

Available with some nifty hints of color, Fractal Design’s Pop Air RGB is suitable for seekers of a big PC case with a pair of hidden, old-school 5.25-inch bays, be it for a multi-drive backplane, a classic bay-panel device. or a DVD burner.

In the end, it all boils down to price, looks, and function with a budget-minded case. While there are a lot of nifty extras and some shortcomings here and there, the Fractal Pop Air is a cool-looking, solid chassis with three fans that is fun to look at without breaking the bank. And that mix should ultimately be plenty enticing for budget-minded enthusiasts, so we can recommend it without reservation.
