If you've played Outlast (and its Whistleblower DLC), you'll know that the game contains plenty of jump scares. Some of these can really take you by surprise; and, for those of an already nervous disposition, could result in the need for some fresh underwear. For the game's sequel, developer Red Barrels has you covered: the team has launched a Kickstarter for some companion diapers.

The Underscares diapers come in basic and deluxe versions, offering all the protection required should you happen to crap your pants when something dives out of Outlast 2's shadows.

Pledging CA$55 (£41) or more will get you some basic Underscares, which include an Ultra-Mesh sewage suppressor butt-grid, middle morph stretch waistband, midnight brownout abrasion resistant fabric, and liquid-lock elastic thigh portals. You'll also receive an Outlast 2 Steam Key, letting you get the full use out of your diaper.

For those who want some Underscares with a little more class, the CA$75 ($55) deluxe edition offers a few added extras, including a fatasp flavour-ready drink pocket, a Lilwuss wearable night light, and middle morph reinforced waist support, along with a Steam Key for the game.

If you like the look of the Underscares but don't want to splash out so much cash, there's a CA$10($7) budget option that will get you a printable pattern PDF and an Outlast 2 sewable patch, so you can create your very own version at home.

The campaign's top-tier costs a massive CA$6,666 ($4916). But not only does that get you six deluxe Underscares, six Steam keys, and six sewable patches, you'll also receive a 16-foot tall by 16-foot long Outlast Chapel. After hooking your PC up in here and playing Outlast 2, you'll be thankful you bought half-dozen diapers.

The campaign is currently CA$4123 ($3040) toward its $40,000 ($29,500) goal. It seems nearly 60 people already anticipate soiling themselves when they play Outlast 2.
