Retailer says Radeon 5000 series has higher failure rate than Turing cards

Nope. PowerColor sell lots of AMD cards. Their results should count. I don’t understand how it’s fair to discount them. I understand you are here on damage control unofficially on behalf of AMD. But there is no logic in removing PowerColor at all. If you are a true AMD fan you should be sending strongly worded emails to PowerColor for letting your side down.

You can do all sorts of tweaks to the data, if you remove the 2080ti then GeForce is by far better than Radeon. But that wouldn’t be fair, although fairer than removing an entire board partner.

Nvidia cards are less likely to fail than AMD cards. The data shows it clear as day.
You are forgetting that the cards dont have to fail to be returned

No I didnt, if you read back through the comments you’ll see I agreed that it’s likely to be AMDs garbage drivers that caused users to return working hardware.

I was even bitten this morning by AMD driver issues. Updated the Radeon drivers on my Ryzen laptop. When I rebooted I tried to launch the Radeon settings app and got an error message. After some googling discovered that I needed to go into the registry and update the name of the drivers. Fortunately this one didn’t eat my time up but it still unacceptable.

AMD really need to sort their **** out. The hardware seems mostly ok but their drivers are ruining them.

I wrote the reply before reading your later comments and didn't think to remove it, but if it is all drivers, then how does powercolor manage to have such high RMA rates? Also, yes I am aware that AMD drivers are not good, but it is clear that powercolor has issues that no other partner is having.

Yeah I agree. I mean we don’t know do we. But I would say this, there is no other way of telling how good your quality control is. Nvidia nor AMD don’t know when and how their cards fail outside of RMA rates.

Im willing to bet the failure rates are the same on average but the AMD driver issues pushing RMA up. Maybe Powercolor have made some dodgy boards. Who knows.

Either way, this sheet doesn't really tell us much besides how many were returned and who made the card, so we can't even say for sure what reason the card was returned. If you ask me, I don't think this really matters a whole lot, people keep using the wrong figures to express the meaning of the differences in the RMA rates, but really, 2% vs 3% isn't going to impact most people, except those who will fight to the last word in the comments section.
