My point is, XP is perfectly safe to use ONLINE without any Microsoft security updates "IF" you are a Windows Security Expert!

Many years of testing supports this statement

Nothing can guarantee you privacy nowadays:
a) If you have a computer that is younger than 10 years, your CPU alone has security holes that were added by design.
b) Every operating system, even Linux, usually comes with tons of apps that have security holes (some of them are deliberate)
c) Surfing on the web is not safe, as the popular web browsers use open-source modules that have security holes. Even the security protocol implementations have holes.
d) If you own a smartphone, your operating system manufacturer can access your data whenever they want. Especially Android. On top of the apps that ask you to voluntarily grant them access to your camera, microphone, contants and files. Which you gladly do.
e) Even if you have an old "stupid" Nokia, your mobile operator can access your microphone. Spying was a part of GSM standard since 1998.
f) Your beautiful new Smart TV has a mike to recognize voice commands, but also to spy on you. They even warn you about not talking about important stuff in front of a TV. Now... it's even funnier if your Smart TV has a built-in camera, isn't it?
g) Android is becoming popular in cars too. Your car can now listen to you, watch you, surf the net, and make phone conversations. Newer generation of cars is even better, as someone from the outside can take control of your engine and brakes.

So, regarding privacy or security, there's no such thing in the year 2020.

I've been running it for years on a number of different devices, and it's by far the best windows yet. Not once have I had any issues with updates. Privacy settings are easy to access and clearly explain what they do.

I'm sick and tired of articles harping on how awful and broken windows 10 is, when in reality, the issues you're complaining about typically only affect a VERY small percentage of users. More often then not, they're users on a preview build too, which tends to get downplayed in your crusades against windows 10.

That's very odd that an older O.S. would seem slow and sluggish compared to Windows 10

On the EXACT same computer (tested 3 minutes ago), Fully loaded Windows XP booted up in 22 seconds

On the EXACT same computer (tested 2 minutes ago), Fully loaded Windows 10 v2004 booted up in 26 seconds

Every "compatible" application runs as fast or better on my XP box

And, on an even older Nehalem dualcore computer, a fresh install of XP (NOT fully loaded with extra drivers or antivirus) boots in 3 seconds flat, whereas Win 10 takes several times longer

Maybe the slow/sluggish problems you are having is due to the operator

You should look into that with an open mind

There are bots that can easily scan for and detect vulnerable hosts, they don't need to know your IP to find you. Any device connected to the internet will be scanned, indexed, and probed.

So anyone claiming they just bought a new computer and run 7 are doing it without platform drivers, and anyone on XP is permantly frozen to am3+ and ivy bridge. Doesn't seem like a good place to be.

Anyone still using XP has no bussiness giving advice unless it's how to build a retro rig. Browsers are out of date, av is out of date, anything that can keep you safe online is at least 2 years out of date. Go ahead pull your XP drive, put it into a windows 10 system and scan it with a current updated anti virus.

I don't need patches for wannacry as I am running XP-SP2 which is not susceptible to wannacry which only affects XP-SP3
