And I can see you too. His/Her comment was pure sarcasm.Solid reading comprehension.
J.K. Rowling?Cannot log in to paypal with either of my email addresses because they each also ask me my favorite author, and I can't remember it! It gives me NO other choices.
I see myself paying for it... I visit this site every single day so why not... And I don't know what it is but something is changing in me lol the other day I subscribed to a Patreon to support a youtuber that I watch everyday it's a small fee to support the content I enjoy so let's go for it...
I've experienced the same. No way am I paying for the "privilege" to view someone's opinion. There are tons of sites like this out there already. Even if they all went to this model, I would find another way to spend my time/money. Many paying citizens have already had their personal data and browsing habits thrown around with no compensation, so hell no.
You pay to go to the movies.Supporting a youtuber its the stupidest thing a person can do
The subscription is voluntary, so yes that is correct. No payment needed.
What if I ad block?
I see no ads while using the website. Not even the ones deemed "acceptable" by somebody.
End of story. No payment needed.
Even if you put your content behind a paywall, I'd switch to other websites.
Ask people over at Forbes how the paywall for adblock users was going for them.
Find a different revenue stream or die - there are plenty of other websites out there.
Well they aren't charging for anything. All their content is still free. They are simply offering an option for readers who want and are able to give a little financial support.I see people have taken issue with the subscription model of this site. I'll admit I'm not crazy about some web sites charging subscriptions for their content, but Techspot has always been straight up when it comes to reporting news, and that's more than can be said of other sites.
Agreed.Well they aren't charging for anything. All their content is still free. They are simply offering an option for readers who want and are able to give a little financial support.
The unhappy folks should just ignore the option and continue reading the site - with ads - as they have been doing all along.
+++I was going to sign up for the paid service, but it appears that you FORCE the use of PAYPAL. When you make it so that I can pay directly with my Credit Card, please let me know.
I'm afraid we don't plan to offer subscription payments via credit card anytime soon. We have evaluated a few payment processors but none integrate with our platform smoothly. On the other hand, PayPal is global and works out of the box with our software. We acknowledge not everyone has or wants a PayPal account and that's understandable. With that said, we've had a great experience with them for over a decade and they usually work out better for subscriptions and disputes than any bank (in favor of the user) that's why we feel confident about using them for our Elite subscription option.+++
Also hope we'll be given some other payment option.
