Why it matters: We still don't know the reason why the hugely popular Guy "Dr Disrespect" Beahm was banned from Twitch, but he's about to return to streaming, this time on YouTube. After using Instagram to tease a comeback, a placeholder stream has appeared on the controversial star's YouTube channel, and it goes live today at 12 pm PT / 3 pm EDT / 8 pm BST.

It was back in June when Beahm was informed of his Twitch ban near the end of what would be his final stream on the platform. In an interview last month, he said that the reason behind his booting hadn't been explained and that he was considering suing Twitch—Beahm had signed a lucrative, multi-year exclusivity contract with the company just three months before the incident.

With a number of Twitch streamers and people within the tech industry being accused of sexual abuse, harassment, or similar acts, some questioned whether the ban could be related to criminal or inappropriate behavior. When asked if this was the case, Beahm said: "I'm just not interested in engaging that type of stuff." He also denied the action was due to his controversial thoughts on Covid-19 and 5G networks.

While Beahm had an exclusivity deal with Twitch, it seems he's sticking to his word and avoiding any similar arrangements with YouTube. Sources say he will also be streaming on other platforms, including Facebook Gaming and his own website, Champions Club.

We'll have to wait and see whether Beahm reveals anything new about his Twitch ban during today's livestream, but it would be a surprise if he offered more than the usual "I don't know" line.

Permalink to story.

He didnt get a suspension, it was a permanent ban and he's not going back. Also it seems odd to defer to corporate interests when twitch has a history of sh*tty moderating.

The same could be said of virtually every social media platform.

Makes no difference to me. My $4.99 will be going to a Iced Matcha latte before it goes to him.

I would say I have yet to understand the attraction to this bum ..... but there are and will always be counter-culture elements in every society and they are important to maintaining the balance of society by making people think about things they might never have; still to make such a big deal over him is amusing, especially where there are a lot bigger and more important issues of the day for the press to spend it's time on.

You are not a fan which is fine.

But his twitch streams when I viewed them had 20-40k people watching him so there are obviously alot of people that are fans of him and support him.

He was one of the biggest streamers on twitch so that is why this is all over social media, I think for alot of you Game streaming isn't really your think so you don't understand why.

I never watched him, or heard of him till he made news by being banned. I differ to Twitch. If they feel he needed a suspension and they choose to let him return, so be it.

Twitch signed a contract with him and were likely in breach of that contract when they fired him. In addition, they didn't provide a reason to anyone, including the man himself, for the ban.

Why you would defer to twitch, when clearly there are some things to consider is beyond me. Do you have twitch stock or something and trying to damage control? At least wait until all the facts come out before rendering judgement.

When you are banned from any platform or service, the company doing the banning is NOT required to say why. They dont have to notify you either, you can log in to a platform or service and be banned. Its part of all their ToS agreements.

Its amazing that ppl dont understand the ToS everyone agrees to. You are NOT entitled to anything.

You can talk to the company banning you as thats your best bet but again they arent required to say anything.

Twitch COULD just say why they banned him, you know these companies are all about transparancy, they instead chose to be *****, again. God forbid people wonder anything concerning private companies, immediately bunch of dribblers come out of the woodworks to remind them about laws they think only they know.

Again, they are NOT required to. Not hard for ppl to understand. You agreed and play by their rules. Dr knows why he just isnt saying. Tons of ppl have commented on him and several have said he either knows or has a clue as to why they banned him but for some reason he chooses not to say what he knows or plays like he doesnt know anything.
While he may be popular he isnt without contraversary. These days they simply wont put up with nonsense anymore. Hr should have never been allowed back after he cheated. He has had tons of complaints against him. Twtich either got tired of it or a serious accusation happened. Could have just been a combination of things. The world changed and his views while mean nothing to most ppl, some took offense and it likely caught up to him.

Yes, people know Twitch isn't required to say anything, nobody is disputing that but they did have a contract which can change things. I don't know what about him cheating upsets you and what nonsense he said or did.

Twitch is required by the TOS to remain publicly silent and so is the streamer that was banned. Doing otherwise makes the TOS void and any arbitration is lost by default by the party that did it.

I can assure you that he knows why he was banned. His lawyers also know.

Then I'm surprised nobody on Twitch leaked anything. Regardless of the seriousness of the situation usually someone spills the beans anonymously.

He is a full SJW. No reason nor logic behind his statement as usually.

Actually he doesn't know, there was a press release explaining this, he said it could have been due to creative content differences in what they wanted to promote in other words company ideals conflicted with his content or they just could have decided to tighten the wallet. You are right they don't have to say, in fact they didn't even notify him it happened mid stream and you could see his confusion. He stated he accepts it because it was what he agreed to, but is confused why they wouldn't say but he understands the legal portion.
So it's there either in video and in black and white.
A lot of people are trying to get away from twitch and YouTube as they have become more political as well and also look for any reason to demonitize content they don't like while allowing Belle Delphine to flaunt and bop her *** up and down on videos promoting her porn hub and only fans accounts, which is a violation of their tos and are clearly being biased in how they apply their rules is it fair ,no, but it is their platform.

Him saying he doesnt know doesnt mean he actually doesnt know. Some other streamers n ppl have said that he knows but wont say for whatever reason. In the end its all speculation unless Twitch ever says why or someone leaks it.

Twitch rules or them enforcing certain things isnt new. Tons of ppl have got away with things they shouldnt. That has also included Dr.

He 100% knows. This is not an opinion but fact. He wasn't just a simple streamer, he had a separate exclusivity contract.
