Overview

Pros & Cons

Price: $290

At first glance, the Moto G7 looks like a much more expensive phone than it actually is. It may not offer top-end power or an incredible camera experience, but if you’re on the lookout for an affordable phone that works well and reliably, you’re sure be a fan of what Motorola’s G series flagship can do. -- As reviewed by TechRadar

Expert reviews and ratings

It's not the best option for snapping photos or playing games, but otherwise there's a lot to like about the affordable Motorola Moto G7.

By MobileSyrup on June 10, 2019 75

The Moto G7 is a good phone for those who want a device that can last the entire day, offer a smooth experience and is easy to use. It's also quite affordable and cleverly disguised as a premium device.

The Moto G7 looks amazing, feels amazing, and performs pretty well for the price range. The low tier camera can be forgiven when so many other aspects were knocked out of the park. For $299, it’s really hard to complain when you get a USB-C port, a headphone jack, and an awesome display.

Motorola’s G-series remains the gold standard for budget smartphones - and this year’s G7 continues that legacy in strong form.

By Pocketnow on April 14, 2019 68

While it probably won’t last a full 7 days of being always on, you could most likely get through a whole week if you turn it off completely at night or when not in use. The camera is totally acceptable too. I’d say it might be better than some of the more-expensive phones out there as well! For $250-$300, the excellent battery life is worth it alone, but the Moto G7 Power turns out to be quite a good all around smartphone as well.

I can't think of another low-end smartphone line that's continued to push the boundaries of what a budget smartphone is and should be able to do. Motorola continues to blur the lines of budget and high end, without raising the end cost. You can buy three, maybe four, Moto G7's for the same cost as one iPhone XS Max or Galaxy S10 Plus. Unreal. If you need a new phone but don't want to spend a ton of money, you can't really go wrong with the Moto G7.

By The Verge on April 10, 2019 80

However, if you were hoping a $300 phone would be a gaming powerhouse, you’ll be disappointed. The G7 can certainly run titles like PUBG Mobile, but can run into sluggishness even on the lowest graphics settings. Still, casual games run well and I’m happy with the G7’s overall performance and odds of maintaining that dependability for the next couple years.

The Moto G7 is the best budget phone we've tried hands down.

By goodhousekeeping.co.uk on March 19, 2019 81

Make the most of your money with this smartphone, which you can get your hands on for just £239, and without sacrificing on the features you would get on a more expensive alternative. Granted, the display isn’t as impressive as some of the higher priced phones, and the speed isn't as good either. But despite that, this is a great option for someone looking for a smartphone that won’t break the bank.

By Tom's Guide on March 18, 2019 70

Despite its shortcomings, the Moto G7 remains a good value. Few phones, even at $299, guarantee the level of performance and software polish that Motorola is offering, and the fact that the G7 is compatible with every carrier under the sun in the U.S....

By Android Central on March 12, 2019 80

Motorola may be muddling the message by releasing four Moto G7 variants this year, but the main $300 version is still the one to buy, and worth spending the extra money on.

By Neowin on March 10, 2019 90

The Moto G7 is a great phone, hands down. If you're not looking to spend a thousand dollars on the latest flagship from Apple, Samsung, LG, or anyone else, this is definitely something that you should be looking at.And you should totally get the white...

The competition has heated up, but we’ll still recommend the Moto G7 to many in 2019.

By NotebookCheck on February 16, 2019 85

Last year, we would have looked more in the high-end for many details of the Motorola Moto G7. Together with its low price point, this results in a lot of smartphone for little money.
