Linksys WRT3200ACM

There’s obviously a lot going for the WRT3200ACM but it’s a bit expensive for an AC1900 router, though its price is inline with the other high-end AC routers we tested. The fact that you can install third party firmware is a bonus, as is its superb performance (at 5GHz at least), old school design, and slick software. It’s an extremely well-rounded package, and easily one of the best AC routers despite its deceptive branding/marketing.

Furthermore, the support for custom firmwares had the potential to make this router one of the fastest on the market, but so far it didn’t happen. Overall, in its current condition (and four days since I have it), the WRT3200ACM is performing really well, so I’ll keep it for a while longer to see if Linksys managed to fix all of the issues and has made the WRT series great again.

If you want complete control over your network and more features than you can shake an NIC at, then the Linksys WRT 3200 ACM is definitely worth considering, especially thanks to its respectable price tag.

At the end of the day I am very happy with the WRT3200ACM it is a workhorse and if you have a fast internet connection and want to make the most of out it this is one of the better routers to get.

Linksys has done a great job at creating a performance-based Wi-Fi router that can support multiple users/clients without sacrificing data speeds on the LAN. If you are familiar and comfortable with traditional router setups and want a good router that will last you for the next several years, this model is a great option.
