ThermalTake Core X9

Overview

Pros & Cons

Reviews

Price: $309

The Core X9 is a case modder's dream, affording endless opportunities for expansion and modification. It is a behemoth, boasting a bar-fridge-like 122L capacity -- large enough that Thermaltake says dual systems are on the menu, not to mention the possibilities for liquid cooling and file servers, so, if you're not interested in modding or building a crazy liquid-cooling setup then the Core X9's full potential will never be realized.

Thermaltake's Core X9 is a serious amount of case for the money and it doesn't feel like it was built to a strict budget. The swappable side panels and I/O panel are a nice touch, the massive fan and radiator support is great, the tool-free drive bays work well and so do the magnetic dust filters.

As stated in the original review of the Core X9, Thermaltake did an amazing job in designing and implementing the this case. The case gives the user the ability to mount radiator(s) in virtually any orientation possible along almost all sides of the...

Swapping hardware components all the time is not easy when using a small PC case so I always choose the largest ones possible for our test rigs like the Obsidian 900D and the Cubitek HPTX-Tank. Now regularly cube cases have a single drawback since you...

Thermaltake did an amazing job in designing and implementing the Core X9 E-ATX Cube Chassis. The case is large enough to house any assortment of components necessary for even the boldest liquid cooling apparatus while remaining extensible enough to...

Pricing This is a big chassis, that much I think we've established, but what I think might surprise you is that the price isn't as heavily loaded as the product. The Thermaltake Core X9 is a very reasonable £117.37 from CCL and readers in the US can...

Thermaltake's cube offerings, the Core X1 (ITX), Core x2 (mATX), and Core X9 (anything!) are pretty good designs for cube type cases. In the X9, the largest of their cube cases, the options are seemingly endless. If you cannot manage to fit something...

The Thermaltake Core X9 is a builder's dream. There is just a ton of space. You can put a license plate on the X9 and take the family camping. Stack two cases together and you have a condo on the beach. Ok, I exaggerate, but the large internal volume and...
