GoPro Hero 8 Black

GoPro delivered massive upgrades to its best features, and packed it all into a camera that much easier to use (and more fun).

Simpler design that requires less fiddling is a running theme for the changes between the Hero 7 and the new Hero 8. GoPro has addressed the pain points in the Hero 7, improved the software, and turned out a camera that's better for action-cam enthusiasts and vloggers alike.

The Hero 8 Black is a worthy successor to the throne. It’s easily going to be my go-to action camera starting now (at least until I get my hands on the GoPro Max in a month or so), and I’m more likely than ever to use it as a B-camera on upcoming productions. Just wait until vloggers get their hands on this thing.

GoPro made something of a comeback with the Hero 7 Black, and the Hero 8 builds on that success. While the core camera remains the same, the whole user experience feels much more refined. Some users will be bummed their filters are no longer compatible, and we’d always appreciate better battery life. Most importantly, the Hero 8 increases the odds of your footage being worth sharing, and that’s what it’s all about.
