We weren't supposed to see the first trailer for Star Wars Battlefront II until April 15 at the Star Wars Celebration event in Orlando. But, as so often is the case, it's hit the internet before the official release date.

The cinematic trailer appeared on EA's official Twitter account before being quickly deleted, but there's still plenty of places you can see the video.

As reported back in February, the clip suggests that the game will feature a solo campaign ("the untold soldier's story"), which will no doubt please Star Wars fans who wanted more from the multiplayer-focused predecessor.

We also see the "multiple Star Wars eras" that EA CEO Andrew Wilson talked about a few months ago. The trailer features characters from the eight major movies, including Darth Maul facing off against Yoda, as well as Rey and Kylo Ren.

The trailer hints that space battles will play a bigger part in the new game, and it seems players may even be able to ride Tauntauns.

The clip ends with the message: "Pre-order to get Star Wars: The Last Jedi heroes," which will be content linked to next Star Wars movie due out in December. The message suggests the game will be released not long before The Last Jedi.

The videos have been up for a while now, so it seems EA and Disney are going to allow them to stay. While you can't tell too much about a title from a cinematic trailer, it looks as if Star Wars Battlefront II has the potential to fix the problems of the last game.
