CES 2017 is in full swing and one of the latest products to come out of the show is the ZenBook 3 Deluxe, a slightly larger variant of the original Asus ZenBook 3 that we reviewed late last year.

Officially known as the Asus ZenBook 3 Deluxe UX490, this enhanced version packs a 14-inch Full HD (1,920 x 1,080) display with Gorilla Glass 5 into the chassis of a 13-inch notebook simply by narrowing the bezels on both sides. While not entirely original, it's a move that I wish more laptop makers would adopt as it affords more screen real estate. Plus, who doesn't love thin bezels?

Asus' latest is powered by Intel's 7th generation Core i7 Kaby Lake processors with up to 16GB of 2133MHz LPDDR3 RAM and a zippy and spacious 1TB PCIe solid state drive. The chassis accommodates two USB Type-C ports (with Thunderbolt 3) as well as a single USB Type-C 3.1 Gen 1 port that supports power delivery.

The ZenBook 3 Deluxe measures just 12.9mm thick and weighs 1.1 kilograms, or around 2.43 pounds. Asus points out that it is 15 percent thinner than a MacBook Pro and 30 percent thinner than the MacBook Air. Indeed, the all-aluminum system looks absolutely stunning. Expect up to 10 hours of runtime between charges thanks to the 46Wh battery.

Asus' ZenBook 3 Deluxe will be available beginning in May staring at $1,699 in either Quartz Grey or Royal Blue color options.
