Cult classic Blade Runner is finally getting the sequel it deserves. Warner Bros. Pictures on Monday published the inaugural teaser trailer for Blade Runner 2049, offering fans of the American neo-noir science fiction film their first look at Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling in action.

On second thought, maybe "action" is the wrong word considering there isn't much of it in the clip although fortunately, that's not a requirement. Instead, the teaser does a good job of setting the film's tone.

According to the description, the sequel takes place 30 years after the events of the first film. It follows a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Gosling), who dredges up a long-buried secret that could propel what's left of society into full-blown chaos. Officer K takes it upon himself to try and locate former LAPD blade runner Rick Deckard (Ford) who has been missing for three decades.

Blade Runner 2049 is scheduled to hit theaters on October 6, 2017.
