I'm not much of a Star Wars fan but I'm well aware of the following it has among techies. That's why, when I came across this short fan film, I knew some of our readers would enjoy watching it.
Star Wars: Call of the Empire only runs for about a minute and 20 seconds although it's tough not to appreciate the high production value. I imagine most would be hard-pressed to differentiate the clip from something produced by a big-budget Hollywood studio but I digress.
As Gizmodo explains, the short imagines a world where those within the defeated Empire are still fighting against the Rebels after the Battle of Endor. It's entirely plausible that such a scenario could have played out, especially if communication with the Imperial High Command had been cut off or if they suspected a Rebel victory was little more than propaganda.
