A group of Japanese researchers at the University of Tsukuba have created palpable holograms. That's right, interactive holograms with haptic feedback that you can feel - the stuff of science fiction is now a reality. Mind blown yet?

Their work was recently submitted to the Special Interest Group on Graphics and Interactive Techniques for inclusion in their annual conference later this summer.
