Microsoft has spent plenty of time and effort to build hype around Cortana, the personal assistant that will ship as part of Windows 10. Believing in Cortana apparently as much as Microsoft, Toshiba has announced that its Satellite line of notebooks will be updated to include a dedicated Cortana key.

Toshiba on Thursday announced a cornucopia of new machines set to arrive in the coming weeks for the back-to-school season. In addition to the dedicated Cortana key, the new machines offer a wide range of high resolution displays and enhanced audio experiences.

The Satellite S Series will feature an all-new sculpted aluminum design with two screen size options - 15.6-inch and 17.3-inch - that can be configured with up to 4K displays with IPS technology. Buyers will also get built-in Harman Kardon speakers and dual-array microphones for use with Cortana and Skype. The Satellite S Series goes on sale July 29 starting at $719.99 for the 15.6-inch model and $874.99 for the larger variant.

Toshiba says its new Satellite Radius 2-in-1 is the first of its kind to offer 4K screen resolution. It features a 2-axis hinge and will be offered in three different sizes: the 14-inch Satellite Radius 14, the 15.6-inch Satellite Radius 15 and the 15.6-inch Satellite Radius 15 4K Ultra HD Edition. Each includes the same dedicated Cortana key and dual-array microphones.

The Satellite Radius line goes on sale June 21 starting at $584.99. It will arrive with Windows 8.1 but will be eligible for a free upgrade to Windows 10 when it becomes available on July 29.

Toshiba's new Satellite C series laptops are designed for casual users on a budget. Available in 15.6-inch and 17.3-inch screen sizes, these systems feature a brushed resin black matte finish, Cortana key, dual-array microphones and an attractive base price of $349.99. They'll be available as of June 21 and are also eligible for the free Windows 10 upgrade.

Rounding out the refresh is the Satellite L Series in 15.6-inch and 17.3-inch screen sizes and the 15.6-inch Satellite Fusion convertible. More information on these machines and others can be found on the Windows Blog.
