Back in November Microsoft began offering a closed preview period to select users for the upcoming Microsoft Office for Android tablets. Now the company has requested access to the Google Plus community making the suite of productivity apps available to everyone. Available as a free download through the Google Play Store, anyone can download the previews for Word, Excel and PowerPoint with no wait list or having to request access.

As it mentions in its announcement blog post, Microsoft used the initial closed period to gather user feedback in order to create a smoother Office experience for Android tablet owners. Redmond is now looking for additional feedback from a wider range of users to ensure that its Office apps are compatible with as manyAndroid tablets as possible.

The preview builds will work on all ARM-based Android tablets with either KitKat or Lollipop, providing they have a display size between 7″ and 10.1", according to Microsoft. Early user reviews appear to be on the positive side for all three of the new preview releases.

Head over to to Google Play now to give the new Word, Excel and PowerPoint Android tablet previews a try for yourself.
