2014 will go down in history books as the year of health and fitness apps according to Google. The search giant recently combed through download data from the Play Store to put together a list of the year's top apps, games, movies & TV, music and books.

As mentioned, health and fitness was the year's fastest growing app category. Netflix topped the entertainment category, Pandora was the most downloaded music app and TripAdvisor was the number one app in the travel category.

Unsurprisingly, Candy Crush Saga was the most downloaded game of the year. Don't Tap the White Tile, Farm Heroes Saga, Subway Surfers and Clash of Clans round out the top five game downloads in that order.

In the movies & TV category, Frozen and The Walking Dead took top honors, respectively. The "comeback" movie of the year was Toy Story and the most searched for actor on Google Play was Robin Williams, no doubt a result of his death this past August.

Reflecting data from YouTube, the top song of 2014 was Dark Horse by Katy Perry and the top album was the soundtrack for Frozen. The song of the summer was none other than Iggy Azalea's Fancy.

Last but not least, the top book of the year was The Fault in Our Stars. Fifty Shades of Grey continued to be a top-seller in second place with Divergent, Twelve Years a Slave and Insurgent accounting for the third, fourth and fifth slots, respectively.
