File name lost when I aborted copy

I started to copy a folder with many files. I changed my mind and aborted copying by clicking the X. Now my folder does not show up. I used CHKDSK /f but got message that chkdsk could not run while file was open by another process. It offered to dismount volume and warned that any open handles would then be invalid. Should I go ahead and let chkdsk dismount volume and run? Would that result in loss of my folder with hundreds of files?

The folder should still be present, but may be renamed or moved.
